Secretary Sean Duffy Discusses Transit Innovation at AI and American Transportation Dinner

The Honorable Sean Duffy, Secretary of Transportation, tonight delivered remarks at the National Artificial Intelligence Association’s (NAIA) first "AI and American Transportation Dinner" in Washington, DC. This special event focused on the future of American transportation in the age of artificial intelligence and the Department of Transportation’s efforts to integrate this transformative technology across its operations.

The event brought together federal and private sector leaders shaping America’s transit infrastructure and creating greater efficiencies across the U.S. transportation system. In alignment with President Trump’s AI Action Plan, Secretary Duffy discussed the Department's new initiative to use AI to optimize and modernize how the nation builds, operates, and maintains its physical transportation infrastructure.

Before interviewing the Secretary in a fireside chat format, NAIA president and CEO Caleb Max said, “This conversation is so important, not only just because AI has recently been such a hot topic, we need to really spend more time as an industry talking about how artificial intelligence is going to benefit the lives of everyday Americans every single day. There's no greater example of that than AI and transportation. Whether it's autonomous cars, whether it's making our air travel safer, or making traffic flow more efficient.”

Since its launch in December 2024, NAIA has grown to be the largest nonpartisan business coalition in the U.S. dedicated to advocating for responsible government policies that enhance AI innovation and maintain global competitiveness for American companies building in AI.

The AI and Transportation Dinner was sponsored by GE Aerospace, Qualcomm, Aurora, Bentley Systems, Blue Sky Innovators, Neuroscale AI and many other NAIA members.
